Overview
Create Destinations From Page Labels creates one named destination for
every page that has a page label, using the label text as the destination name. Each
destination shows its whole page (a Fit view). Labels in any language are
preserved exactly.
This turns a labelled document into one that can be deep-linked by label: a URL such as
document.pdf#iv or a link action naming the destination iv
jumps straight to the page labelled iv.
How to use
- Open a PDF whose pages have labels (see Create Page Labels).
- Go to Plug-Ins > Utilities > Named Destinations > Create Destinations From Page Labels.
- If the document already has named destinations, choose whether to remove them first or add to them.
- A message reports how many destinations were created. Save the document to keep them.
Note
Pages without a label are skipped. A document with no page labels at all is left unchanged (existing named destinations are kept), and the command says so. If two pages carry the same label text, the later page's destination replaces the earlier one — destination names must be unique within a PDF.
