Repair PDF
Fix corrupted or damaged PDF files to restore readability.
Overview
The Repair PDF tool attempts to fix structural issues in damaged or corrupted PDF files. It opens the document and writes a fresh, fully rebuilt copy — regenerating the cross-reference table, file trailer, end-of-file marker, and object and page-tree structure. This resolves many "file is damaged" or "cannot open" errors caused by structural corruption. It does not repair corrupted page content or font data; where the underlying data itself is damaged, that content cannot be recovered.
How to Use
- Navigate to Repair PDF from the Security & Optimization menu.
- Upload your file using drag-and-drop, Browse Files, or cloud storage (Dropbox / Google Drive).
- Click Repair to process.
- Download the result when processing completes.
Options
The repair process is fully automatic. The tool analyses the PDF structure and applies all necessary fixes without additional configuration.
Tips & Notes
If a PDF opens but displays incorrectly (missing pages, garbled text), try repairing it. Many rendering issues are caused by minor structural corruption that the repair tool can fix.
Severely damaged files where the content data itself is corrupted may not be fully recoverable. The tool recovers as much content as possible from the file.
