Overview
Link Files To Bookmark Actions lets you attach file actions to existing bookmarks in the active PDF. The dialog displays the document’s bookmark tree alongside a file list from a selected folder. You link files to bookmarks one at a time by selecting a bookmark and double-clicking (or adding) a file.
How to use
- Open the PDF that contains the bookmarks you want to update.
- Go to Plug-Ins > Bookmarks > Link Files To Bookmark Actions.
- Click Select Folder to choose the folder containing the files you want to link.
- In the bookmark tree on the right, click the bookmark that should receive the file action.
- In the file list on the left, double-click a file or click Add File to attach it to the selected bookmark.
- Repeat for additional bookmarks and files as needed, then close the dialog.
Dialog elements
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| File list | Displays all files in the selected folder (sub-folders are not included). Double-click a file to link it to the currently selected bookmark. |
| Add File | Attaches the highlighted file to the currently selected bookmark. This button is enabled only when both a file and a bookmark are selected. |
| Bookmark tree | Shows all existing bookmarks in a hierarchical tree. Select a bookmark to make it the target for file actions. |
| Select Folder | Opens a folder picker to populate the file list. |
Action types
| File type | Action created |
|---|---|
| PDF files | A GoToR (Go To Remote) action is created, opening the PDF to the bookmark’s original target page number. |
| Non-PDF files | A Launch action is created, opening the file with its default application. |
Note
Linking a file to a bookmark replaces any existing action on that bookmark. Only files in the selected folder appear in the list — sub-folders are not scanned.
