Delete Blank Pages

Overview

Delete Blank Pages removes all blank pages from the current document in place. This is useful for cleaning up scanned documents or removing separator pages that were used during scanning or printing.

Unlike Split by Blank Pages, which creates separate output files, this operation modifies the current document directly by deleting blank pages from it.

How to use

  1. Open the PDF containing blank pages you want to remove.
  2. Go to Plug-Ins > Pages > Delete Blank Pages.
  3. Choose the detection method: True blank for digitally-created blanks, or Scanned blank for scanned documents with noise.
  4. If using scanned blank detection, adjust the noise sensitivity slider.
  5. Click OK to delete the detected blank pages.

Options

OptionDescription
True blank (no content stream) Detects pages with absolutely no text content. Use this for digitally-created PDFs where blank pages contain no content at all.
Scanned blank (allow noise) Detects pages that are effectively blank but may contain a small amount of OCR noise from scanning. The sensitivity slider controls how many words are tolerated before a page is considered non-blank.
Noise sensitivity A value from 1 (strictest) to 10 (most permissive). Higher values allow more detected words before a page is still considered blank. Only available when Scanned blank is selected.

Warning

This operation modifies the current document directly. Save your document before running this operation if you want to preserve the original. The operation will refuse to delete all pages if every page in the document is detected as blank.

Tip

If you want to split at blank pages rather than delete them, use Split by Blank Pages instead.
