Overview
Extract Bookmark Target Pages saves a new PDF containing only the pages that at least one bookmark points at. Use it to pull the pages that matter out of a long document once the bookmarks already mark them.
The open document is not changed, and nothing is deleted from it.
How to use
- Open a PDF whose bookmarks point at pages in that same document.
- Go to Plug-Ins > Bookmarks > Integrations & Tools > Extract Bookmark Target Pages.
- In the Save dialog, choose a name and location for the new PDF.
- Click Save. A message reports how many pages were extracted.
Which pages are extracted
- Each targeted page is included once, however many bookmarks point at it.
- Pages are written in document order, not bookmark order.
- Bookmarks whose destination does not resolve to a page in this document — links to other files, missing destinations, web links — contribute nothing.
If no bookmark in the document points at a page, the command says so and stops before asking for a filename.
Tip
Run Validate Bookmarks first if the page count comes out lower than expected — a bookmark with a broken destination is silently skipped here, and the validation report will name it.
