Overview
Remove Persistent Guides deletes every guide line that Add Persistent Guides placed in the document, on every page, in one step. There is no dialog: the command counts the guides, tells you how many it found, and asks for confirmation before removing anything.
How to use
- Open the PDF document in Acrobat.
- Go to Plug-Ins > Pages > Remove Persistent Guides.
- Read the confirmation, which quotes the number of guides found, and click Yes to remove them.
The page view refreshes as soon as the guides are gone, and a closing message reports how many were removed. If the document contains no guides, the command says so and changes nothing.
What counts as a guide
Guides are stored as line annotations tagged by the plug-in, and only lines carrying that tag are touched. Lines drawn with Acrobat’s own comment tools — or any other annotations — are left exactly as they were, so the command is always safe to run on a marked-up document.
Tip
To remove just one guide rather than all of them, select it on the page with Acrobat’s annotation tools and delete it like any other comment.
