Our Journey
1993 — Founded
Mapsoft Computer Services Limited established, beginning work on Adobe Acrobat solutions in the earliest days of the PDF format.
Late 1990s — First Acrobat Plugins
Released our first commercial Acrobat plugins, building deep expertise in the Acrobat SDK and PDF specification as the format gained worldwide adoption.
2000s — Product Suite Expansion
Expanded our product range to cover bookmarking, stamping, redaction, compliance checking, and mail merge. Began custom development services for enterprise clients across legal, finance, and publishing.
2010s — Creative Cloud Expertise
Extended our development capabilities to Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Adopted CEP and UXP extension technologies as Adobe modernised its extensibility platforms.
2020s — 64-bit & Modern Platforms
Released 64-bit versions of all plugins for modern Acrobat. Continued investing in UXP development and expanding our consultancy practice across industries worldwide.
2024–Present — AI-Assisted Development

Leadership
Michael Peters — Technical Director
Michael Peters leads Mapsoft's development teams across the United Kingdom and Moldova, bringing over thirty years of experience in software development to the role. He began his professional career as a developer at Federal Express in the UK before moving into the Adobe technology space.
Michael's career in PDF technology dates back to the mid-1990s, when he worked with Adobe Systems on the first PDF export functionality for Adobe PageMaker. That early involvement with PDF at its inception gave him a deep understanding of the format that continues to inform Mapsoft's work today.
As Technical Director, Michael has been instrumental in shaping the direction of both Mapsoft's customised solutions and its commercial product range. His hands-on leadership ensures that every product and project benefits from decades of real-world experience with Adobe technologies.
Michael is a Fellow of the Institution of Analysts and Programmers (FIAP), recognising his expertise and professional standing in software development.
Outside of work, Michael is a part-time golf instructor and serves as president of his local Rotary club.
