Getting Started
Please read the following instructions to help you get started using Check PDF Standards.
Installation
Please make sure that you have the full version of Acrobat running, or at least a demo version. This plug-in will not run under the free Adobe Reader. The plug-in becomes part of Adobe Acrobat, so once the software is installed you will need to open Adobe Acrobat to use it.
To install the software:
- Step 1: Run the
Mapsoft_CheckPDFStandards_Install.exeinstaller. On some systems you may need to run the installer as Administrator (right-click and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu). - Step 2: Run through the screens, agreeing to the licence agreement. No serial number is required.
- Step 3: The installer will automatically detect your Acrobat installation and install the plugin to the correct location.
Silent Installation
The installer supports silent mode for automated or scripted deployments:
Mapsoft_CheckPDFStandards_Install.exe /VERYSILENT
Using the Software
Once the plugin is installed and you load Acrobat, you will find Check PDF Standards on the Extensions > Mapsoft menu.
The plugin offers three ways to check PDFs:
- Single File: Browse for and select an individual PDF file to check.
- Folder: Select a folder containing PDF files, with an option to include subfolders.
- Current Document: Check the PDF that is currently open in Acrobat.
Results can be displayed on screen or exported to a CSV file for further analysis.
